Introduction

The International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (IVR) was founded in Berlin on 1 October 1909. The purpose of the Association is the cultivation and promotion of legal and social philosophy at both the national and the international level. The Association is open to all relevant scholarly disciplines. The Association, as well as its national sections, shall organize congresses, lectures and other events of a similar nature. The national sections are autonomous with respect to the organization of their events and also solely responsible for their financial affairs.
